In my family, Christmas Eve is probably the biggest day of the year, and my personal favourite. We shop, wrap final gifts and generally just enjoy each others company. We always have pork and stuffing batches for dinner and hot chocolate. we make paper lanterns and put them outside our door to guide Santa's Reindeer. I love Christmas Eve.
A new tradition we have started this year is something my husband did on his mission. We sing Christmas songs but we also sing a few sacrament hyms at family home evening and caroling to remind us of the Savior and his perfect example. He was born in a stable and grew to show us what perfect love truely is.
When we decorate our Christmas tree we always listen to Christmas Carols. My kids will reflect on special ornaments as we put them on the tree. We have a few that are from my great-great grandparents they brought from Germany. We also put our "childproof" nativity under the tree and tell the Christmas story.
